Jo Cumming holds a Diploma in Veterinary Nursing, which she earned in 2011. During her years in the veterinary industry, she has worked in various veterinary clinics across Auckland, dealing with both small and large animals. Most recently, Jo spent 2.5 years as an equine veterinary nurse with Veterinary Associates, continuously broadening her skill set and striving to provide the best care for all patients.

Jo joined Fiber Fresh in June of 2024, seeking a career change that would allow her to remain within the animal health and well-being sector. She is excited about sharing invaluable knowledge on nutrition for equine and calves, and connecting with like-minded individuals who prioritize high-quality nutrition to enhance performance, longevity, and quality of life for their animals.

Outside of work, Jo enjoys spending time with her "handsome husband" as she called him, and her sweet daughter, Ari Jean. They often garden or work on home improvements on their lifestyle block overlooking the Kaipara Harbour in Makarau. Jo also has a passion for horse riding, currently training her 6-year-old Donnerubin mare, Luna, as a hopeful dressage prospect. Additionally, she enjoys going for walks and spending time with her friends.

Jo has a deep personal connection to horses, and horse ownership was a significant reason for her family's move from the UK to New Zealand 20 years ago. Over the years, she has owned several horses, all of which have become cherished family members and lived out their days with her.

One of Jo's favourite products from Fiber Fresh is Fiber Protect, valued for its benefits in assisting with the prevention of gastric ulceration and being ACVM registered, which aligns with her veterinary background. Jo's best feeding tip is to feed Fiber Fresh prior to exercise to create a mat-like function over the stomach contents, helping prevent acid splashing into the squamous region of the stomach where gastric ulceration can occur.
